Relating to the once in a lifetime exhibition at the National Gallery (9 November to 5 February) Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan, we focused on Leonardo’s innovations in chiaroscuro (tone, lights and darks) and suggested the use of a limited tonal palette of black, white, yellow ochre and phthalo blue/prussian blue. The day began as normal with an introductory slide talk from both Tom and Andy.
